Journaling for Clarity & Intention Setting
Spring doesn’t just show up — she arrives with intention.
This time of year carries a subtle power: the soft return of sunlight, the unfurling of green, and a whisper from nature reminding us that it’s okay to begin again. After the stillness of winter, spring calls us to shake off the old energy, move with purpose, and root deeper into the visions we’ve been dreaming about.
I’m not just talking about blooming — I’m talking about blooming with clarity. That’s where journaling comes in. It’s more than a habit — it’s a ritual. A sacred space to get honest with yourself, clear the mental clutter, and plant your intentions like seeds in fertile ground.
This week, we’re leaning into the energy of Reset & Manifest — using the page to reconnect with where we’re going and who we’re becoming. Whether you’re mapping out big goals or simply making space for peace of mind, journaling is your anchor, your mirror, and your medicine.
Let’s drop in, clear the way, and call it all in — one word at a time.
Opportunities of Spring: When You Flow with the Season
Let Journaling Be the Portal Into Your Clarity, Creativity & Soul Strategy
Spring isn’t about rushing to bloom — it’s about choosing how you bloom. When we align with the energy of the season — rooted in vision, flow, and release — we unlock a current of momentum that’s grounded in clarity and purpose, not pressure.
This is the season to tune into your inner compass. To make space for creativity. To shed what’s been weighing you down. To move with intention.
Journaling becomes your daily ritual of listening, aligning, and activating. Here’s what becomes possible when you surrender to spring’s sacred rhythm:
Aligned Vision
Spring is like Windex for the spirit — suddenly, the fog clears and what you couldn’t see before becomes obvious. The rising Liver energy sharpens your inner lens, making it easier to:
- Zoom out and reconnect with your bigger picture
- Refine goals that felt fuzzy during winter
- Discern between what’s in alignment and what’s just noise
When you give yourself permission to see clearly, you also give yourself permission to choose differently — from a place of power and presence.
Try These Prompts:
- What is becoming more clear to me right now?
- What dreams feel alive in me — even if they don’t make sense yet?
- Where am I being asked to refine my focus or shift my path?
- What would my life feel like if I fully trusted my vision?
- What am I being called to create, not from pressure, but from purpose?
Creative Breakthroughs
Spring is a muse. This is fertile ground for birthing new ideas and reconnecting with inspiration that may have gone dormant in the winter months.
Whether you’re writing, building, dreaming, or just creating space for joy — your creative energy wants to move. Journaling helps you:
- Capture intuitive sparks before they float away
- Map out projects, offerings, or routines that align with your purpose
- Reclaim your artistry as a tool for healing and liberation
Try These Prompts:
- What ideas or passions have I been quieting that want to be heard?
- What am I craving to create, just for the joy of it?
- If I stopped editing myself, what would I make?
- What feels like soul-care in this season of creation?
- What idea keeps tapping me on the shoulder — and how can I give it room to grow?
Emotional Liberation
Spring stirs the pot. The Liver governs emotional flow, and when it’s stuck, it can bring up frustration, resentment, or old grief that’s asking to be moved. Journaling becomes your emotional detox — a safe space to let it all out.
You don’t have to carry it forward. You get to Release. Rewrite. Reclaim. your lightness.
Try These Prompts:
- What emotions have I been carrying that feel heavy or outdated?
- What parts of my story am I ready to release or rewrite?
- How do I want to feel as I step into this new chapter?
- Where can I soften, forgive, or let go?
- What stories, patterns, or feelings am I ready to release so I can move freely?
Soul-Level Strategy
This is the season to stop forcing and start flowing. When you’ve cleared the clutter and tuned into your vision, your next steps become:
- Clear and actionable
- Intuitively aligned
- Anchored in your values and deeper purpose
This isn’t hustle — it’s holy. You’re not manifesting from ego anymore. You’re moving from soul.
Try These Prompts:
- What’s one intentional step I can take this week that feels aligned with who I’m becoming?
- Where do I tend to push or force, and how can I shift to trust and flow?
- What is my intuition asking me to follow, even if it feels uncertain?
- What do I need more of in my life — and how can I start making space for it?
- What does my next aligned step look and feel like? What does it serve — ego or evolution?
Make It a Ritual
Pair your journaling with:
- Liver-loving teas: dandelion, lemon balm, or mint
- Incense: rosemary or lavender to clear the space
- Breathwork: 3 minutes of deep belly breathing to stimulate Liver Qi
- Gentle movement: hip openers or side body stretches to support Gallbladder flow
As the world blooms around you, remember — your growth doesn’t need to be loud or perfect. It just needs to be honest. Let the page hold your truth. Let your intentions be seeds. And trust that everything you’re clearing now is making space for something beautiful to rise.
Why Journaling Supports Manifestation
When we write, we engage both body and mind — a perfect partnership for manifestation. Journaling allows us to:
- Release mental clutter and access deeper clarity
- Align our subconscious beliefs with conscious desires
- Visualize our goals and imprint them in our energy field
Think of your journal as a mirror for your highest self. What you pour onto the page can become a map toward your vision.
Journaling for Clarity
To truly manifest, we must first see clearly. These prompts can help:
- What am I currently holding onto that I’m ready to release?
- What does clarity feel like in my body?
- When do I feel most aligned with my purpose?
- Where am I ready to grow?
Use these as a reset, a way to sweep out the fog of winter and invite in lightness and direction.
Journaling for Intention Setting
Intentions are the soul behind your goals — they’re the energy that fuels manifestation. Setting intentions through journaling helps anchor your vision into daily practice.
Try these prompts:
- What do I want to invite in this season?
- What is one aligned action I can take today?
- How can I support my future self?
- What would it feel like to live in full alignment?
Make It a Ritual
This isn’t just about journaling — it’s about creating a sacred moment for yourself. A reset. A return. A space to meet yourself honestly, with love and intention.
At Mary J’s, our rituals mean everything. They’re how we connect, release, realign — and let the medicine (in all forms) do its work. Whether it’s a cannabis-assisted journaling session or a tea-fueled reflection in the early morning light, these rituals become containers for clarity and expansion.
Here’s a peek into how I bring intentionality into my own journaling flow — and some ideas on how you can shape your own.
Cannabis as Ceremony: My Sacred Start
When I’m setting intentions or clearing energetic space for a new season, cannabis is often my first medicine. Not just to relax — but to drop in. It shifts the energy, slows down the mind, and opens the door to intuition and creativity.
Here’s how I like to begin:
- Choose a strain that supports the mood — I go for something balanced: calming yet mentally expansive for me.
- I cleanse my space with incense or palo santo, then take a few mindful pulls, using the inhale as an intention-setter.
- As I exhale, I let go of what I don’t need — tension, distractions, doubt.
- Then I roll into breathwork or a soft movement practice before picking up the pen.
It’s not about the high — it’s about the presence. Cannabis becomes the ally that helps me hear myself more clearly.
Herbal Teas + Gentle Transitions
Not every ritual calls for cannabis. Some mornings (or evenings), I reach for a mug instead — something warm and grounding to signal that I’m entering sacred space.
My go-tos:
- Lemon balm to calm anxious thoughts and bring lightness to the mind
- Dandelion root to support Liver energy and emotional release
- Chamomile + lavender for softer journaling moments, especially if emotions are moving
Sipping tea while journaling is like writing with one hand and being held with the other.
Sensory Anchors: Incense, Oils, Crystals
Rituals awaken all the senses. I often light incense before I begin. It changes the frequency of the room — tells my body, “You’re safe to be open.”
I’ll anoint my wrists with a grounding oil for me (like vetiver or sandalwood) and place a crystal nearby.
Breath + Body Before the Pen
Ritual means slowing down. That’s why I always take a few minutes for breathwork or intuitive movement. Some days it’s just deep belly breaths. Other times it’s:
- Side stretches to activate the Gallbladder meridian
- Hip openers to support the Liver and emotional flow
- A few rounds of cat-cow to soften into my spine and heart
Nothing fancy — just enough to get the energy moving and the messages flowing.
Create Your Own Ritual Flow
Your ritual doesn’t have to look like mine. It doesn’t need incense smoke swirling perfectly in the air or the “right” playlist humming in the background. The medicine is in the intention, not the aesthetic. What matters most is that you show up — heart open, pen ready, energy willing.
This is your space to reclaim slowness. To be in communion with yourself. To let the chaos soften and the clarity rise.
Maybe your ritual is a full hour with herbs, movement, and pages of journaling. Maybe it’s ten sacred minutes with a warm mug and one honest sentence. Both are enough.
So light your candle. Brew that tea. Roll your joint. Stretch your body. Pull a card. Breathe deeply- or whatever is your vibe. Then let it all go — and let your presence take the lead.
This is your moment to tune in.
You get to decide:
- What you need
- How you feel
- What deserves your energy
- What you’re releasing to make room for more aligned magic
No rules. No rigidity. Just a ritual that feels right.
Anchor Your Manifestations
Journaling isn’t just about what you write — it’s about how you show up for yourself. It’s a sacred pause in the noise. A clearing. A choice.
Whether you’re releasing emotional weight, visualizing something new, or just making space to breathe — let journaling be your anchor in this season of rebirth.
This spring, don’t force your blooming. Don’t rush your becoming.
Instead, clear the space. Tend the soil. Water your vision. And trust that everything aligned with your growth will rise in its time.
And it all begins with pen and paper in hand.
Stay Well. Stay Healthy. Stay Elevated
